Get involved with AWA community
  • AWA chapters, either based on location or by affinity, are a great place to start when you’re wanting to connect with other workshop leaders. If there’s not a group for you, we’re happy to help you plan a gathering. Recent regional events have taken place in Massachusetts and North Carolina.
  • Looking for ongoing support? We’re piloting a mentorship program we’d love to have you join. You can also use our affiliate directory and full listing of trained leaders to get contact info for one-on-one connections.
  • Check out our list of volunteer tasks. If you’re interested in an existing area of need, or have a new idea for a project, reach out! We would love to partner with you.
  • You can also always get in touch with our Board of Directors. We are currently seeking new members. If you have vision or talents to share, please let us know.

Promote your workshops and writing successes
  • We provide detailed instructions about how to make the most of your Affiliate Directory listing with photos, text, and our label system (please let us know if we are missing a label you need). You can also update your password or manage other aspects of your membership there.
  • Anytime you have news, please tell us! If you format a simple classified ad (of about 50 words) we will share it in our newsletters and on social media.
  • We also love to hear publication news, whether it’s yours or a member of your group’s. We can include a blurb in our e-newsletter, our monthly affiliate news, and we hope eventually promote your book(s) on an affiliate authors page.
  • We’re always looking for blog posts. If you’d like to share some photos and information about your ongoing group or any one-off events you lead, or you have an idea for an article about an aspect of writing or workshop leadership, please send us your idea.
  • Need to edit an event you’ve already created? Visit the event calendar, click into the event that needs to be changed, and click the gray Admin tab. You can also email us if you need assistance setting up a recurring event.
